But when a beloved artist, known for aiding Hispanic immigrants, is found brutally murdered, Lila Morrison, ex-newspaper reporter, is determined to solve the ghastly crime.

Lila goes head-to-head with Detective Garcia, who's in charge of the case and none too happy with her snooping. He has a rock-chest, wears snug-fit jeans and carries a bad attitude. But Lila pushes ahead, encountering a menagerie of strange and dangerous characters.
